i used to kinda like cars like that, about 10 years ago. now, not really. i prefer more subtle cars now. thing you have to remember here is this is HOLLYWOOD! all they care about is what will make the movie #1 at the box office. if they had clean looking Zs and evos that most of would love do you think it would be as popular?? hell no! the target demographic for this movie is the younger crowd, as in MIDDLE SCHOOL and high school age kids. even elementary. basically, kids. i know, i taught 6-8th grade when F&F 1 & 2 came out. the kids went apesh*t for those movies. they bought all sorts of crap that was tuner anything. Walmart tshirts, toys, folders EVERYTHING. Go take a walk through the kids clothing department at Walmart and the toy aisle. its ALLLL about these cars. kids love those crazy ass show cars that look like futuristic airplanemobiles. that's why the producers wanted the craziest cars you can find. if you go to Universal Studios "Hollywood" right now you'll see four cars (iirc) from the movie on display. nothing but kids and Japanese tourists crawling all over those things. the only one that's popular with
everyone is the Charger.

i dont know whats up with the lame ass cast. i was almost expecting Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan (not that they suck but they dont belong in this type of movie). I do know why they chose Bow Wow though.....teenage girls! theyre in love with Bow Wow. they probably asked Usher who just laughed it off. That's why they used Vin Diesel and Tyrese in the others. those are two guys that are VERY popular with the ladies. adding a famous rapper like Ludacris only adds to it as well. and VD was a huge hit with the guys before he embarassed himself in that POS movie.
I actually saw a test screening of F&F1 about 6 months before it came out. it was pretty good. they changed a lot of scenes and the music when the final version came out. what was funny was that i told everyone it was going to suck because it was made by Universal. which is sad because the first movie had SO much potential, even with the story they had. Its just that Universal Pictures is all about big explosions and flare and big bang Hollywood style blockbuster movies. If these movies had been made by Miramax or some other studio that has made more realistic movies, it would have been great.
although incredibly retarded the first two movies were linked together. i wonder how theyre going to do that with
drifting in Japan. which by the way was not even close to being as popular back when F&F came out but is huge now

what's next? F&F Rally Sydney?

I thought they would at least have supercop Brian Spillman traveling to Japan to bust a drifting gang that is selling hot drifting tires in the USA.
