Go to greyhound.com and they offer a service where you can ship a large item via bus. You bring it to the bus terminal, and they hold it there for the recipient. I sent a rear bumper that way, and I also sent a complete SVT exhaust as well. Pretty cheap and painless, except for driving to the bus terminal in downtown Boston.
