well they did say that many many stories have copied characters and storylines from Tolkien's books. that he layed the foundation for many stories.

The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe has a copy right date of 1950.

The Lord of the Rings has a copy right date of 1954.

Who copied Who?

I do agree that I'll be really disappointed if LWW is poorly made.

Well hard to say. Tolkien and Lewis were good friends and communicated a lot together. They probably influenced each other though I'd say that Lewis is no 'Tolkien' though. Tolkien was writing out his 'elf mythology' and other stories when he was a teenager! He had many manuscripts by the time LOTR was published.
Not sure about Lewis, just know that he was an avid Christian and that his books all the way through the series portray Aslan with a striking resemblance to God/Jesus.
