now if the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe sucks, then I'll be disappointed.
Me too. This movie looks well made. Man, I think I read that book about 20 years ago!
same here i dont think remember any of it really.
Same for me! I really like those books, I read them all but I only remember bits and pieces. I remember LWW pretty well though.

well they did say that many many stories have copied characters and storylines from Tolkien's books. that he layed the foundation for many stories.
The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe has a copy right date of 1950.
The Lord of the Rings has a copy right date of 1954.
Who copied Who?
I do agree that I'll be really disappointed if LWW is poorly made.
Well hard to say. Tolkien and Lewis were good friends and communicated a lot together. They probably influenced each other though I'd say that Lewis is no 'Tolkien' though. Tolkien was writing out his 'elf mythology' and other stories when he was a teenager! He had many manuscripts by the time LOTR was published. Not sure about Lewis, just know that he was an avid Christian and that his books all the way through the series portray Aslan with a striking resemblance to God/Jesus.

If you enjoy movies with coherent plots and actual character/plot developement, DO NOT WATCH THE NEW MOVIE!
I could give exact reasons as to why it is terrible, but right now I'm tired and I can't believe I just spent nearly 3 hours watching it.
I think you are a retard! I saw it today and loved it. I don't think there was a single person in the theatre that could've said anything bad about it.
All of my friends enjoyed it so... to this thread!

Just came back from it.
Good movie, all things considered. We all liked it and found that it didn't contradict the book though it did however glance over quite a few areas or not even mention some. But as someone said, it was already 2.5 hours so they had to cut some stuff out.

It's an adaptation, lots of stuff got cut out. But it's also worth noting that none of these films get produced without JK Rowling herself blessing the production and in some cases, even helping the screenwriters and director and actors come up with the best solutions for proceeding with aspects of the film.
