Me too. This movie looks well made. Man, I think I read that book about 20 years ago!

Am I the only one that thinks the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe has the exact same battle scenes and shots as the Lord of the Rings trilogy?

well they did say that many many stories have copied characters and storylines from Tolkien's books. that he layed the foundation for many stories. good God that would be lame if characters did look the same as LOTR. especially with the technology they now have AND the fact that LOTR was just out!

I never read Narnia nor LOTR, so I'll be none the wiser. I'm just hoping it'll be kickass. And maybe I'll finally read the books, especially since I own some of them I only read the Hobbit so far.

The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe has a copy right date of 1950.
The Lord of the Rings has a copy right date of 1954.

I do agree that I'll be really disappointed if LWW is poorly made.

I just came home from watching HP4 ... I must say, although it was *extremely* abridged (try making any 700+ page book into a 2.5 hour movie ...), I felt it stayed much truer to the book than that atrocity Alfonso Cuaron put out. It seemed more in the style of Christopher Columbus, except it left out any scene that didn't play a crucial part in the plot or foreshadowing for the future.
Just my opinion though ... my friends, avid HP fans as well, enjoyed HP3 but didn't come out feeling pleased with HP4.
As with any of the movies, however, you've really got to read the book to understand what was going on when it was. There were several slight allusions to things that, if you never read the book, you might not have picked up on.
