yapper, good info, I just picked up a 98 Se sport with 184K on it, a little oil usage, good body/paint/interior, etc. but trans doesn't shift into O/D and light flashes even if you leave the O/D off. Picked up for $500 from a friend of mine and with 6 mile each way 35MPH commute now I don't really need the O/D. But wouldn't mind driving for awhile before getting a rebuilt trans or picking up a engine/trans combo from the local U-Pull it. Look forward to hearing all that the trans shop did to fix yours. So far it sounds like (in my ford inexperience)its a solenoid or something not engaging. Thanks

Man you're having one hell of a time, but it sounds like you haven't gotten to frustrated with the shop. Obivously they haven't either! Good luck with the repairs. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see how it turns out.

Did they rebuild your atx oil pump? There is a revised bushing plate and gasket. Also, did they check oil pump gear clearance?

If they did not, you could be losing oil pressure from defective pump.
