I'm beginning to think that well ported exhaust side but retaining the stock exhaust valves and using these cams will result in a HUGE midrange torque monster and get it prepared for boost.

THe ide I have is to take the 2.5L, machine out the combustion chamber where the shrouding is. Put in at least late model 2000+ pistons or nice aftermarket pistons. Port the hell out of the exhaust. Remove the secondaries and actually combine the runners.
For added fun, slap a fatty turbo on it with a moderate trim that will spool a bit quicker, maybe more like the T25 but with a bigger compressor.

Yep, if you leave the intake ports as-is and just clean them up a bit it should be making great midrange torque.

PS - I'll be selling m GT28R when I get me new turbo.

I too plan on doing light head work on my heads when I do my rebuild so as not to kill the low rpm torque. I'll be hogging out the exhaust side a bit though.
