or you could just use a DEI part # 555F PATS bypass module. it programs the same way, and DOES NOT require a key left in the car either. Another somewhat old school option would be to open the "door" on the back of the key where the hole is for the ring and remove the small white "pill" from inside the key which holds the vehicles PATS code. Use zip ties to hold the pill near the ignition cylinder inside the plastic steering column cover. kinda ghetto, but it works and you dont have to buy a module.
