After taking some time pondering about where to start with my tour, I still can't decide where I want to start. I was looking at lowering it first but then I have no idea about what I am doing. My friends say Midas will put them on because it can be a pain to compress the shocks all the way. I was looking at lowering springs made by Dropspring Suspension. They are a little over $110.00 including shipping and come with a lifetime warranty. Any opinions?

Never heard of Dropspring. Id go with whats tried and proven. If your looking for moderately priced and good performance, i would go with a set of BAT springs.

They are a bargain for the price.

Even before considering the lowering springs comes the question of what you want to mod it for. Rank order your priorities: Handling? Braking? Appearance? Acceleration? Sound system? Track days?

Each buck put into cosmetics is one fewer for something else.

And what do you have now?

Either go with the BAT kit or the Koni kit.
Koni kit: http://www.ajusa.com/cgi-bin/koni/products?ajr_skey=e1f5e75d20e6edc403033febdf92d11d
Bat kit: http://64.202.180.37/files/contour.PDF

From my reasearch the Koni kit is worth the extra 120 bucks but that's your call. Do some searching on this, there is a ton of information. If you go with the Koni kit there is a promo code that you put in on ajusa's web site that will save you $30 bucks, I think it's gift4u but searching will find it.

I think it has something to do with the drop in the front end. Theres like a 60lb difference in motors.

I'm running the struts and springs from my old Zetec without an issue though...

V6 cars came with a more 'sporty' tuned suspension than the 4 cyl cars.

If you wan't to start with looks, I'd start with window tint.

If you do go with the drop DONT GO CHEAP. You get what you pay for. Remember its your suspension, do you really want to mess it up or put cheap junk on your car. You have to remember that modding a car is very expensive hobby.

Good luck and post some pics of your car.
