Originally posted by tedBalog: I have a 2.0 zetec, MTX, recently I have noticed, sort of a whistling noise, at about 4500-5500 RPM, only in 1-3. Im wondering if it has always been there and I've never noticed it, if its bad... and if any of you hear the same. It almost sounds like a turbo, just quieter.
(Sorry I posted this in another section, then relized it should go here.)
A lot of people report that on their Zetec's. Its pretty common, it has a lot to do with the serpentine belt... The goodyear gatorback belt is the belt of choice for the zetec and it makes a supercharger like "whine" to it, and its fairly loud too.
