For some reason the Contour is the most expensive car that I've had to get body parts for. When I had my collision back in May 04, the Front end was damaged. New hood, bumper cover, headlights, grille, and passenger side fender, AC compressor, front sway link, and front headlight support, and finally a AC Recharge, to the tune of almost $3500. The car was nearly totalled from a 15 mph collision.
The reason it cost so much is that I slid under the bumper of the van in front of me. It could have been much worse cause the guy in the pickup behind me had to go almost sideways to avoid hitting me. If he had hit me it definately would have totalled the car.
Click Do make sure you get OEM parts cause I have two headlights from DRV, I believe, they leak and have spider-cracked something horrible. My front bumper was a non OEM part also and it has the strangest whistle at 80+ mph. I think that its the fog light covers but there is no way to really tell.
