I did this right after I got my car about 2 years ago and all I did was wash it, tape it off, and spray paint it. I Washed the parts good, dried them, taped very carefully around the relectors and painted. I covered the rest of the car in newspaper to avoid any overspray hitting the paint, but for a 3 dollar can of black spraypaint and a half hours work maybe ... it was sure the tightest looking cheap mod I have done. ... that's just my opinion ... no streaks and still looks good to htis day. You really don't need to take them off and go through that whole long process. Jared.
