Use STP oil treatment as bearing prelube. That stuff will let you run without oil for like daaaaayyyyssss!!
Smoke-B-gone works really good too.
I've tried the regular prelubes and I still go back to the STP and hand lubing every contact surface when assembling because it stays put and is so sticky. You could wait three days and then fire the engine without worries, with the regular prelubes that are sold, or using engine oil you don't have as much time before it will leak down into the pan again.

THe STP will stay on camshaft lobes even...granted mostly on the lowest point of the lobe after a time due to gravity, but there will be a thin film all over the lobe.
