Buy now, the EVO X is ugly as hell. If you were picking between the 06 STI and the 06 evo then i wouldnt be able to help you because they're both perfect. But since you'd want the 05 STI (big mistake.... the 06 is so nice), then go for the evo.

but why STi or EVO?? are these the only fast cars left? ok ok I know they are AWD but still?!? is it just me or if I'm gonna buy a fast car, I'd want it RWD? maybe it is a personal preferance.. but seriously, the money I'll spend on a new STi or EVO, I'd buy a used 350Z and twin turbo it and still be cheaper then the STi and EVO.. but thats just me..personal preference I've seen waaay too many EVO's and STi's around now..kinda gettin old IMHO..but I still envy them..

id like to get a 350z and twin turbo it, but try driving that in the winter that would be fun talk about drifting, this car will be a daily driver just like my contour but i cant drive the contour in the winter so i store it , and buy a winter beater, this way ill be able to drive either the evo or sti in the winter and have no worries, i mean i was looking at the new mustang also for the price its not bad and i would like a rwd car, but it has to drive in the winter since i have to have insurance on both of my cars. and i not going to heavily mod the car off the start , there both very quick stock and want to break the engine in before i would do anything, i mean a turbo timer, boost controller ,safc not really anything crazy . but i think right now there 50/50 on the EVO vs. STI i still dont know what im going to do. but either way it looks like im going to like it.

Well the WRX gets the 2.5 ... but if we're talking straight up STI Diferences:
Torque split is now defaulted at 49/51 vs 35/65 Mechanical limited-slip differential Steering angle sensor added to the Driver Controlled Center Diff. Roof vane spoiler and rear diffuser
