1. You should have enough common sense to realize your "basic" Q has been asked before, so you d@mn well better not get lippy with people when they tell you to search.

2. If you are such a know it all on a 426 HEMI...what concepts in making a car faster don't apply to the contour? True there may be some tricks on any given motor, but the concepts remain the same.

DON'T ASK A BASIC Q AND RETURN WITH YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. Either way it doesn't make you look good.

use search terms such as "nitrous" "zex" "venom" "ADC" "turbo" in the forced induction section and you should find everything you need to know.

What? I will assume you meant an aftermarket kit that gets rid of smog equip and/or modifies it???

Yes, that's what I meant. Obviously there are several cars that come with turbos from the factory. You just can't stick one on a car that didn't come with one.

IIRC they didn't use the Duratec. They used the Mazda V6. The rules allowed it because the engine belinged "in the Ford family."

Yup, Mazda V6 but still, that's a lot of ponies from normally aspirated 2.0 motors.

You know I was going to make some comment here, but you know I thought.. Ill just let you realize how stupid yor comment of "The basics are the same" is, cause the only thing that a 426 and the V6 is that they both run on gas, have pistons and sparkplugs... thats about it.

Now as i requested in my origional post "No Fighting or Drama"

And back to the origional question at hand, What would need to be done to the contour to make 300 HP at the tires.

Turbo is the only way you're gonna get anywhere near 300hp on a 2.5L - I was 5hp short, and I'm the highest of any stock internal 2.5L

It was a fully built race-motor. Somehow I don't think we can use that example here. Drivability of that thing on the street would be next to worthless.
