Okay I have been looking at buying either a Mustang Gt or a CSVT. I have an opprotunity to buy a 95 Mustang Gt Convertable with 66,000 original miles for $6,000 or I can buy a 1999 CSVT with 74,000 miles for $6,000. I want both cars but which should I buy? Which one would you buy? Both the Stang and the Tour are super clean and well kept. Both cars would be "weekend cars" not daily driven. I just dont know what to do. I hope some day to own both cars but which would be the best to buy now?

Please Help!!

Drive each, pick the one you enjoy the most! Both are very nice, but different cars.

You have to decide which car you want to see in your garage. If you are already driving a Tour or Mystique, maybe go Stang. I would expect reliablity to be about equal...

It all depends on what you want to with the car. Do you want to mod your weekend car? If so, what are you planning to do with it(autoX, drag racing, HPDE, etc.)?

If it was just a weekend (and I'm assuming this also means non winter) car....I'd rather have the convertible. Unless the Mustange was an auto....then It's definatly the SVT.

95 GT Manual trans. I wont even look at autos. And yes no winters or rain.

Think about prticality, as well as probability cost. On one hand you have a very nice beastly muscle car that probably will Destroy the pocket book on insurance prices and gas prices, not to mention something that you really cant/shouldnt drive in the winter, and probably in the near future will have to put a new top on it (as nice as a convertable Stang is). Byall means if you can afford all of that go for the mustang. On the other hand, you have a newer car, with a different smaller engine which is pratical because it will handle pretty well in the winter, as well as turn a few heads when you have you escipades of "spirited driving." I personally think a CSVT has a nicer ride and a little more class then a Mustang GT... The CSVT, when introduced, was known as the "poor man's BMW." Another important fact... The Mustang GT is STILL made, the Contour SVT isnt. So if you want to own both of these cars, chances are if you buy the mustang, You wont find a good contour SVT when you look for something different. But if you choose the CSVT NOW, you can drive it for a couple of years, then decide its time to move on and buy a cooler newer Mustang GT.

'95 is the best year for an sn95 mustang...no i'm not just saying that cause i own one but it is the last 5.0....i personally don't care for 'verts myself, heavier etc....but check out stangnet.com...there are a couple of 'verts in the 12's with just heads/cam/intake....

but to your original ??? it depends on the usage of the car...if its just a daily driver or you plan on autoxing i'd say go with the csvt(although my stang is my dd)....if you are looking for a fun car to mod then i would say hands down get the stang, unless you can afford to do a turbo'd 3l....but then again that $$$ spent on the csvt would yeild better results with the stang...

as much as i loved my csvt(i'll probably pick another one up in a couple years for a dd)all that low and mid range torque of the stang always puts a smile on my face...and there are tons of suspension setups for the stang that can turn it into a good handler as well....its a tough choice, but i don't think you could go wrong with either..

new,new ride! '99 svt black/mnb '95 mustang gt sold! '98 svt #800 sold!
