Probably a repost since I am usually years late on news, but my brother up at Wyotech ran across this and told me about it. Ford's 3.5L Anyone know anything else about this? Is it a Duratech and swappable with our engine? Apparently it is also very turbo capable in stock form. If so, the Contours could live on for years!

WOuld be cool if it is a Duratech, but I doubt it. I love my SVT but I sure wish they had more Torque.

I googled 3.5 Duratec and found a good article. Looks a bit different than the 2.5 ones we have, or the 3.0 version. Click on the photo gallery of 3.5 parts!
Duratec 35
The Ford 500 needs that motor! A Fusion with that would be like the next SHO/SVT..

It's a totally new architectur to the Duratec as we know it today - it's like comparing our motor to the SHO 3L.

It's got 1 coil per spark plug.
Looks like that white thing at the bottom is the oil filter nice placement unless they put something in the way when it's in the car.

That's a nice looking engine. Wonder if they'll put it in the Mustang to replace that retarded 4.0L?

thats also where the oil filter is placed on a the new 500/freestar platform with the 3L duratec. y pipe routing is stupid on it though.

Looks to me like it will be too tall to put under a Contique hood... Unless you have a cowl...
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.
