Hey All,

I've been snoping around, but haven't posted in a while. I've been crazy busy lately, and even started house hunting.

Well, I've put over 30,000 miles on the tires that came with my SVT, and I've been long overdue for changing them. Then I started hearing a tire noise that was driving me crazy, so I figured it was time to get them done. I purchased some Falken ZIEX ZE-512s and brought them down to Walls L/M. They've done all my warranty work thus far, so I figured I'd return some business their way, and have them mount my wheels. This dealership has been pretty good to me both before and during the Contour. Plus they have the Hunter GSP-9700 that people have been recommending.
Finally, I seemed to be having a charging issue that I wanted them to look at. (Occasional battery light at high (near redline) RPMs).

I am planning on going to Albany tomorrow, and with 99,500 on the clock, I wanted to bring it in before the 100K warranty expired.

Well, while it was there, I remembered I hadn't given them the wheel lock. It was already on the lift, and the kid was grabbing the tires out of the trunk and in the back seat. He opened the passenger door, and the side skirt ripped slightly. The side skirts were being crushed by the lift! Well, I looked at him and said. "Well that's not good." He replied, "Let me go get a manager." The manager came out and said, "Yep, we'll be replacing that." I, in kind, replied, "No problem, I know you guys will take care of me."

I left the car there, and got a lift to work. About lunch time I received a call from them. It appears as if that tire noise was actually a wheel bearing. Cha-Ching! Cashing in on that warranty ($50 deductable) one last time!

I'd estimate that I've gotten close to $10,000 dollars out of them with this warranty. Hell, the engine was $3600 in parts alone! And it only cost me $55 to transfer it. That's hands down the best investment I've ever made!

I'll sure miss that warranty.

Edit: Forgot to add. That side skirt that they ripped was the one that was torn up pretty good, so that's why I really had no problems with it! Free replacement baby! Woohoo!!!

Wow, good catch man! Wish my car had had a warranty.

(Actually, we did use that 30K mile warranty extensively for the 8K miles we owned it ... )

nice!

my car supposedly has a 108k warranty on it but the dealershio has found a way to screw me on it.
i wish i could find the original paperwork that stated it.

those warranties are great especially when you need them.

One of our work trucks just ran out of the extended warranty we had on it. The warranty cost $3800.00 for the 5 year 75,000 mile warranty that covers pretty much everything except brake pads and light bulbs, while the truck was covered by the bumper to bumper it didn't have one problem. After that under the extended warranty we got somewhere around $13,000 worth of parts and labor from the warranty. Our deductable is $100 per item and I think that of all the stuff we got out of the warranty it cost us less than $1000 in deductables.
