so when i was painting my door handles, etc. i accidentally left my tools out in the rain, and although most of them are stainless steel, some of the bits and allen wrenches and the innerds of the socket wrenchesgot a little rusted up. so i went to wal-mart and bought some (alleged) de-rusting solution, and it actually made the problem worse...
anyone know of anything besides the rust-out crap stuff you can get at wal-mart and the like?
anything around the house good at removing rust and rust stains? mostly the actual rust, though...

A wire brush. The wire brush + dremel will make short work of it.

Strange as it may seem, they say that Coke will take rust off if it sokes over night. Never tried it though.

I tried that on some rusty bolts once. It didn't do squat.
