The cruise control from your '98 would be retained with the SVT TB kit, only the bracket and throttle cable need to be changed along with the TB and TPS (should come with the TB). Throttle response is greatly improved because of the faster SVT throttle assembly. One of the best low buck mods for a non SVT to do, and it doesn't take long at all. Not sure where you got your cruise disable info from... The only issue with SVT TB swaps is with traction control equipped '95's because that year had cable driven TC, while all other years are electronic and not effected.
