Whenever I e-test a car,I make sure it's nice and hot and preferably running 94 octane. I've yet to fail an e-test,with the exception of my Celica that had a fried ECU and had fuel dripping out the tail pipe....
But yeah...it's almost always the 02 sensor that screws your readings.
I heard yesterday,as of January '06,all cars 5 years and newer,so I guess model year 2001 and newer,do NOT have to be tested every 2 years as they presently do and now that all cars 20 years and older,which were exempt under the previous rulings,now ar required to be tested. Well isn't that great. Everyone either has no emission controls,or purposely removed them because they were exempt. There's going to be a lot of angry people....
I thought they were phasing out the e-test though? It's stupid,it's not even required in some areas. I think it should either be a requirement like a safety to register a car and it must be done everywhere,or just dump the stupid cash grab program.
