It was the O2 sensor, as suspected. Apparently it was loading up at idle (his words, not mine). New plugs and wires were recommended, as was a new air filter. I gave them the 02 sensor job, and asked them to e-test again, and I suspect that will have it blowing clean.

The other stuff I can do easily myself. Of course with a bus strike in the offing, it would be a good idea to have things running right.
