When buying a new LCD it's best to go and physically see it at a shop, and test out some applications on it.
The specs change quite a bit, and when comparing two sets of similar specs you may easily end up with LCD's that perform extremely differently! Buying blind can be quite a distraught process if you get it wrong.
On a side note ... look for the screens that swivel. They the dogs do-what's when it comes to web-surfing!!
