LCD's dont have a refresh rate.

A CRT refresh rate is the amount of times the cathode ray scans the screen, the bare minimum for the human eye to register movement is 60hz. However that causes eye strain so higher refresh rates are preferred.

LCD's response time is the time it takes for a crystal to switch from one end of the RGB spectrum to the other.

They're totally different things.

Remember the lower response LCD's can only display 6bits of color at once, so youre making a trade off in faster response vs washed out colors.

If you're on a bit more of a budget on the video card, the PNY 6600GT also had dual DVI outs. Newegg for $150.

I'm still a CRT fan myself... don't see a real advantage to the LCD's unless you're tight on space (I'm not).

Don't feel bad, I didn't know how to identify a video card or what an AGP slot was when I started looking...

I saw a few models at Best Buy that were 19" / 1600x1200.

The Samsung 17" I bought is 1280x1024 (just right for its size IMO) and has an 8ms response time. No noticeable ghosting at all when playing games or watching movies, and I'm pretty sensitive to it.

Back in 2000 when I worked for Dell, IBM showed a 17" display that was 2500 by 2050 resolution. The pixels where so small that you had to really strain your eyes just to sorta see them. The guy demo'ing it showed some satellite images, x-rays, and some crazy photographs. You would swear you where looking at a slide show, or something.

Where is that frickin' technology almost 6 years later?

(Although the monitor was run using 4 video cards with 4 fat ribbon cables hanging out of the side of the computer case )
