If you've tried will power and logic, and that still doesn't work, you could try a physiological response. I did this for a chick that was trying to quit. Get about a pack and half of your favorite brand. Tear all the tabacco out of the cigs and put it in a small pot. Add enough water to bring it to a boil. After it's cooked for five minutes or so, strain out the fibers and slam it. The rule is that once you've downed the nicotine tea, you can't have anything to drink or eat for an hour. You will get sick and probably die, but that's where you're at now, so what's the difference except this way it will happen much faster. My friend got really sick to her stomach, but lived. From then on, every time she smelled a cigarette, but most especially with her favorite brand, she got sick to her stomach. In psychology I believe they refer to it as taste aversion.

Stop now. The first time I ever smoked, I was really drunk. I just grabbed a friend's pack and lit one up out of the blue. For a while I'd only smoke when I was similarly inebriated. A few weeks later, I'd smoke after I had a good buzz. Soon, it was after I had 1 or 2 beers. Not lng afterward, I'd light one up when I was really stressed out. Then a couple months later, I'd have one when I needed a break.. You get the idea. I'm smoking now, in fact. And by the way, the nice buzz you get when you first start doesn't last very long.

Yeah I am at the point that I have been smoking for about 9 months and I refuse to buy a pack anymore but everyone is always willing to give me one. I already know the buzz doesn't last, thats was one reason I would have just one when I was out with friends three-quarters of a year ago.
There is no way I am drinking nicotine tea either, the idea alone makes me sick.

This situation sounds familiar. I used to smoke Cigars recreationally with my buddies. I was WAYYYYY to young to be smoking. I quit because it didn't do anything for me. No buzz, didn't like the smell of cigarettes(albeit, I still hold a fondness for the smell of cigars), and it I was always coughing. I stopped and my friends followed suit. Just be yourself. Trust me, being the only one not smoking will make you stand out to the ladies, and that's a good thing.

In the US I would agree, but a lot of women smoke here. I didn't start to fit in with my friends, it was just sort of there. Soon the glass of beer went hand it hand with a cigarette.

I would have to agree with everyone here. Stop now.
Even now, you are creating a dependancy on having something between your index and middle fingers, and having something in your mouth. If you keep it up, that dependancy will grow stronger, and the chemical dependancy will kick in. By that time it will be damn near impossible for you to quit unless you have really strong willpower.
I know how easy it is to do something when you are in your 20's thinking it isn't killing me now, so it can't be that bad. It doesn't help when everyone else does it either, because it leads one to believe that it really can't be that bad. That is kind of where I am now. However, this isn't a good attitude for life, and it isn't one that is easily gotten rid of, trust me.

Hmmmmm. I forgot about all the different cultural things over in Europe. If I were you, I'd just stay drunk, or just "puff" on the cigs. However, that still tars up your teeth, etc. I don't know. It's a hard decision, but do what you think is right for YOU, not everybody else. Keep in mind, American women like good teeth. I don't think that one applies in Europe as often as it should...

Carry around an EMPTY pack with you. (or fill it with candies/NO SMOKING notes/whatever) Everytime when you reach for it and realize it has no cigarettes, it'll make you remember.
