Rishodi, you're from Blacksburg...go help em out some.

Oh, I was at the game, and believe me I was going crazy (same as usual hehe) just like the rest of the students in the crowd. But I gave up and left shortly into the 4th quarter though, after Miami scored their last touchdown and it was obvious that us coming back to win was an impossibility. We've never played so horribly. During any other game, we could have played a horrible game and still have a chance of winning - hell, we played terribly against Maryland and still beat them by 19 points IIRC. But we played a bad game against a good team, and that's why we got beat. I wish we had played as well as we did against BC or Marshall or Georiga Tech, then it would have been the good game that I was expecting.

Oh, and had we won the game, and every other game for the rest of the season, we would have had a good chance of overtaking Texas at #2 solely on strength of schedule. Miami, Virginia, and then Florida State for the ACC championship. But who can say for certain, now that that is solidly out of the picture. It's disappointing that for yet another year, my team is one of the best but also one of the most inconsistent. This is certainly not the first season that we've been doing great, only to lose near the end of the season to a team we could have beaten if we had bothered to play at the top of our game.

If we could just pull together and consistently play at the top of our game, we would no doubt be championship contenders. Our defense is better than Texas, IMO. And on offense, well, Vick nearly has the passing stats of Leinart combined with the rushing stats of Bush. I think we just got cocky and Miami played impressively.

I'll agree to that...behind UM, you have the 2nd ranked defense in the NCAA...honestly, USC is not as dominate than last year and could be beat, but it would have to be an off day for them...USC reminds me of the New England Pats: the luckiest team in football history...It's going to be tough to break them again this year, but I think it will happen if Texas isn't there...
