Now I know that I am not the only one to find this anoying.....Has anyone done anything to raise the armrest up about 5 or 6"?? Its way to low and I am having to lean to the right so that my arm will rest on it. makes my back hurt! Any ideas???? Thanks!

10 and 2. No need for armrest.  Honestly, I don't have much of a problem with it. I'm 6'-1", but I don't think height has anything to do with it. Taller people will have longer arms. Mark

i assume you are speaking of the SVT arm rest as the pre 98 ones are at a good height and the post 98 ones just get in the way
look up svtavanio, or something close to that and find his geocities web page, in there you will see what he did to raise the arm rest in his SVT

I am at 6'0" and its just way to short....unless I slouch! I have a 96 no SVT. I will check out this other link.

didn't JSmith also raise his up somehow, with some wood or something. Although that doesn't really help since he's not on very much to explain how he did it.

Thanks for the link. It actually looks more like a formica instead of real oak. too shiny. I think that I can pull it off in black though. hmmmmmmm
