Anyone know what the cutoff is for emissions? I'm interested in a 1988 T/C and this is what the guy sent me: CT people is this true?
"The state of CT did not have an emissions program for a long time in CT. The sticker on the windshield shows about 5 years since the last emissions test. I just got a notice for emissions in the mail about 3 weeks ago."

MA people: what is the cutoff for emissions?

The cutoff in MA appears to be 1984

CT emmissions were done away with for about 4 years as the system was redone

now there is testing for all cars again, not sure about the cut off date

In CT its 20 or 25 years and older are no longer required to have an emissions test. I believe that vehicles from 2002 model year and newer are required to pass an intital emissions test prior to the issue of registration but the dealer takes care of that then they are not required to have an emissions test for 5 years. All others require testing every other year I believe, or anytime a change of ownership takes place.

Thanks!! I wasn't sure if this guy is offloading his T-bird D/t emissions issues....found out he is moving and can't take the car.

BTW, still have Contour "leftovers" if any one is interested (extra items, parts, etc)
