Anywhere fun in our area to drive? It's kinda boring in-city. Any suggestions?

Where is the Devils Bacbone? I've heard about it so many times but no one really knows where it is.

32 out of San Marcos (past the college towards Wimberly) actually, I guess its considered 12 there.. anyway.. head out that way, but don't turn north towards wimberly.

stay straight towards Blanco, and its in between the two.

the now-defunct austin ceg page used to have maps of several popular trails. give me a few min, I'll dig them up.

EDIT - posted, though most are based from Austin.

Thanks a bunch louis! I'll try some of those out. We should get the Texas SCCEG group together again and run down one of them sometime! Speaking of which, I've got the video, but it's a little big. It's a little under 40MB. I tryed to cut it down a bit, and I added some subtitles...

Take RR 12 out of San Marcos towards Wimberly. Go staight at the Wimberly Junction (turns into RR 32) Go through the Backbone and turn left on FM 3424. Left on FM 306 all the way back to IH 35.
