But wouldn't such crud be rubbed out with the 3M stuff anyway? I've never used it, although need to and plan to this spring. Just want to make sure.
No, all a swirl remover does is fills swirls. It really does not get "rid" of them. By using the 3m first all your doing is filling the swirls with dirty paint which make the swirl marks more pronounce. Now by claying the car before the 3M you are creating a smooth surface.. well as smooth as you can get for a daily driver. With the smooth service the 3M will be able to fill the swirls perfectly.
