My drivers power seat is not working on the backrest angle adjust. Have any of you had this problem and if so what did you find out?
The odd thing is that the the aft seat height adjuster wasn't working but now it is. Need to spend time looking at as well as several items I have been putting off.

To my knowledge, no Mystique or Contour has a power function for the backrest angle. It's controlled manually with the handle on the side of the seat. Only the seat bottom is powered.

My 1996 has power function for backrest angle as well as lumbar support. It was an option for the power seats.

Check the switch connections. Maybe it is worn out (if you don't hear any sound). If you hear some clicking sound, the gear could be stripped. And does the lumbar support work?

Edit. From my 1996 manual.
"Power seatback (if equipped)
The seatback controls on the drivers seat
To tilt the seatback forward or back, slide the top part of the top button forward or back. To inflate or deflate the lumbar support pads, slide the bottom of the button forward or back."

Thanks for the info Tony2005. It does have power backrest, and to be honest I thought all the power units did. I need to spend some time looking at it. It moves some but am trying not to play with it much 'cause I don't want it to stop in the recline position.
Good to know they came with manual latches. Maybe a cheeper repair than replacing some of the power stuff.

My 95 had this happen. It blew in the FULLY reclined position, and it was the power seat fuse. a bear to drive!!

Off to work!
