Sounds about right. Autoweek clocked 0-60mph in about 8.2 seconds in their 2WD V6 XLT tester.
IIRC, C&D clocked a 4WD Tribby at 8.2 to 60mph in a comparo just over a year ago. The Escape was close behind. Since most tests I've seen of the 4WD Escape/Tribute show 60mph in the upper 8's, C&D's testers must've either been factory freaks, or those were uncorrected cold weather test results.
