So I recently installed an amp in my 2000 CSVT. I'm running 4 gauge power/ground wires, grounded to the metal underneath the rear seats. It's a Profile AP1040 1000 W amp powering the 4 door speakers (Infinity Kappa series up front, Reference series in the back, all 5x7).

Here's the problem. Every now and then (seems to be random), the sound will cut out when the engine drops below around 1500 RPM. It will recover shortly after. However, it doesn't go totally silent, just really bad quality. It's like the amp itself is shutting down and the speakers are being powered by the crappy pioneer HU. But like I said, it doesn't happen every trip, but on any given trip where it does it once, it will always do it. For example, let's say I get in the car to go the store, and it does it coming out of the driveway...it will do it every single time the RPM drops. However, if coming out of the driveway, it doesn't do it, then it will be fine the entire duration of the trip.

Any ideas on what could be causing this?
