Kim- my mom works in that office, so yah- I've been there (plus, she always keeps her eyes open for me).
There are very few jobs right now in general, so it does pretty much suck. I have applied to about 17 so far...we'll see what happens. I search every day (and it gets very frustrating) online, in papers, etc. I have told many close friends/contacts in the field, as well. I'm covering all of my bases, that's for sure.
