So young, and it seems he was having great life going for him.
I hope that he pulls through and fully recovers.
PS Hope the guy that hit him gets what he has coming to him after that.

Thanks so much guys. I told his family about you all tonight and they are very thankful. They know they have people all over the country praying for them, ands its real comforting.
I just got back from the hospital. The swelling seems to have levled off. Its still extremely high though. I am hoping and praying that it goes down tonight. There is brain activity which is very good if/when he comes out of this.
The family knows that the kid who hit him was just playing football. Yess it was a late hit, but not intentional. They aren't holding him accountable. They made a point of that on the news tonight. He is going through alot now too.
I just can't believe how much this is effecting me. I am completely torn by this, and it means a lot to me too knowing you guys are all thinking of him.
Again thank you from myself, and most importantly his family.
I will be there again tomorrow morning and will give an update when i get back.

I don't pray, but your friend has my best wishes.
My little cousin, well, not so little anymore (6'2" 220lbs) plays highschool football, and i've seen him get his @$$ laid out a few times. In fact, this past saturday I was at a game of his, and 3 players were carried off the field.
I personally don't see the point of any of it, but whatever floats your boat I guess.

I just dropped off Kurts brothers at the hospital this morning. His condition is the same. Although rumors are spreading like wild fire in town here that he passed away this morning. There is a site set up for him if anyone is interested in his progress. Kurt Thanks again for everyones thoughts and prayers.

best wishes to him and his family and to you as well...
one of the girls i work with had a friend in a real bad car accident. his injuries are the same as kurt's. he was given a 30% chance to live. That was in febuary, now he's back to being a normal 17 year old. As always things work out on their own...

No change in his condition. They said that after the hit, everything depended on the next 72 hours. It has now been, 5 days. The swelling remains. The docters were concerned about blood circulation in his brain. He still needs everyones prayers. The whole town here is affected by this. Its been on the news several times, CBS His school has been dead quiet.
Those of you who go to church, please put him on the prayer lists.
He needs a miracle.

I hope all turns out well for this guy and his family, and I don't want to side track this too much but how can you not see the point? Doens't competition drive you in one way or another? I bet he loved playing the game and the competition surrounding it.
