that SC sounds like its been rode hard and put away wet..or however the saying goes.

I test drove a 90 XR7 5spd with similar problems. I told the sales guy about the problems and pissed him off.... oh well. I'd walk away from it.

I'm thinking about the car in this way....if he wants to sell bad enough, he'll go down on price.
The accumulator on the SC is a part that goes "bad" (from what I'm reading online) after awhile-it's a typical issue...your thoughts are pretty much what I thought though.
