Well, I had the infamous flashing O/D off light, then the 1-2 slam all in a commute to work the other day, then on the trip home, after exiting the tollway, noticed that the trans slips in 1st to 2nd and then into 3rd, but is fine in 3rd and O/D. Now, if I manually shift from 1st/2nd then to drive, it's perfect (other than having to shift it). First thought was to replace the VSS, did that, no change, next thought the fuild looked a little over full drained and replaced that (not burnt or anything), lastly, check the TR sensor (tranmission range sensor), can't really tell, but I don't want to go blow $80.00 for it if I utlimately replace the trans or it isn't the problem..... Love this car and hope this is just a sensor or something....... HELP please...... Forgot to mention I have a 98 SE 2.0l.....

Well, anyone have any other thoughts before I go find a new trans to put in this thing? I replaced both the TSS and the MLPS, same exact symptoms......

Thanks for assistance!
