I understand what you're saying about it being my opinion, but what I'm saying is that as far as car enthusiasts in general go, a stock Mustang or whatever would get much more respect than a Cavalier with aesthetic mods. Somebody liking a car does not automatically make it a good platform. Factors as simple as engine size, suspension setup, and aftermarket size give certain cars an advantage. Just as anyone serious about drag racing would probably not pick a Contour as their first choice, someone looking for the best handling car would not pick an Excursion. Yes, a certain amount of respect is due to someone putting a lot of time and effort into getting his or her car they way they like it, but I'm tired of people saying anything is tasteful or everything is equal simply because you like it. Please let me know if any of this doesn't make sense.
I hate mustangs...except for 60's and the brand new ones. The rest are yuk. And it isn't just engine size and aftermarket that would make one car superior to another, think DSM's for engine size and our contours for aftermarket...DSM's have a small 2.0 liter that can kill most other cars and our contours have no afermaket at all (and that sucks bad).

I didn't say that's all there is to it. I gave a few examples of some of the simplest advantages. And if you're looking to go fast for reeeally cheap, a fox-body Mustang 5.0 wouldn't be bad. They respond well to mods, the 5.0 has a massive aftermarket, and can be picked up for super cheap.

His car is tastefully done - the Cavalier....far from it. Stevie Wonder could've picked better wheels and lights from a colour brochure!
Thanks - ditto
I get comments from not only "our generation" car enthusiasts but many, many of the old timers that truly understand what a beautiful and well thought out custom car should look like.
Most people mod now days because the aftermarket parts are flooding the streets and they think it is cool to get the most gaudy, stick on, quick bling, cut spring, spray painted parts they can!
The cavi is ugly. There was no thought put into it.... my $.04 (I put $.02 in already)

Actually the car has been like that since 97. So mods were not available at all. The car is built well. Just cause you people dont like it doesnt mean its an ugly car. I dont remember you guys being the "car mod gods" Hahhah I crack myself up.

not to rain on your parade, but I don't like your car that much either. What is up with the purple inside, along with the other mismatching colors? It just comes down to what a person likes and what they don't like, that is all. And obviously this is a FORD site and posting something like a modded cav would get responses like what has been going on.
