the purple is pretty lame.
the only thing I like about it is the 'gills' in the fenders. They're pointless but they look cool.

Yes.. I am saying just that. some people don't like a Corvette. some would ACTUALLY CHOOSE something else.

I honestly believe if someone were to take the money spent on all of that stuff and get a used stock Mustang GT, you would have a car that already looks better, handles better, is tons faster, and would definitely get tons more respect from anyone with any real taste. Just my $.02
Your statement is exactly what I was getting at. that is YOUR opinion. NOT everyone's. YOU may have chosen to spend the same amount on a used GT, but THEY chose to spend it on their ATX Cavalier. Just because they chose something that you wouldn't have doesn't make the CAR any worse for the wear. The mods done may not be aesthetic, or the easiest on the eyes (to you) but that is another topic entirely.. MODIFICATIONS.
Again.. remarking on the money someone spent on poor mods: an opinion, and someone's point of view. Simply crapping on what car they chose to DO those poorly chosen mods TO: not cool.
For whatever reason, they have a cavalier (or a neon, or a Kia, or a Hyundai, etc) and they are working with that for reasons unbeknownst to us. I think that is their choice, and picking on their CAR is no more beneficial than us bragging about ours to someone that could care less.
Just as you, My .02

I just threw the Vette out there as an example. You can throw in Supra, Z, S2000, Enzo, I don't care. It is a plain and simple fact that there are cars out there that are better to work with than others. I understand what you're saying about it being my opinion, but what I'm saying is that as far as car enthusiasts in general go, a stock Mustang or whatever would get much more respect than a Cavalier with aesthetic mods. Somebody liking a car does not automatically make it a good platform. Factors as simple as engine size, suspension setup, and aftermarket size give certain cars an advantage. Just as anyone serious about drag racing would probably not pick a Contour as their first choice, someone looking for the best handling car would not pick an Excursion. Yes, a certain amount of respect is due to someone putting a lot of time and effort into getting his or her car they way they like it, but I'm tired of people saying anything is tasteful or everything is equal simply because you like it. Please let me know if any of this doesn't make sense.

Joe's car (blu fuz) is nicely done. His chrome wheels I like as they are all spastic with weird squiggles and crap all over the joint.
Hi car is tastefully done - the Cavalier....far from it. Stevie Wonder could've picked better wheels and lights from a colour brochure!

As for the cavailer, If I were giving you advice, I would say start by getting rid of the wheels, and then the taillights, and then get rid of the rest of the car. Just my opinion, because I don't have to drive it, your brother does.
My car lacks the esteem, respect and styling of an SVT... I have a fever and the only perscription is more SVT-ness.
Need:
SVT E0 or E1 wheels
SE Side skirts
98-00 Contour SVT, minus current owner.
