Unisys1 I was reading in the trouble shooting forum something about cleaning connectors of the ATX harness.
Reference was specifically made to the "transmission vehicle harness connector" where replacement of " damaged or pushed out pins" was made if "corrosion and loose wires" existed.
What does the ""transmission vehicle harness connector.""
connect? Maybe it connects the tss, vss rss to the pcm?
So is there a replaceable wire harness that connects these commponents?
I hope "Service as necessary" does not mean a 1500 PCM 7 hours wire harness replacement TEC.
So PCM wire connectors connecting the TSS, VSS, RSS(MLP) sensors can be rebuilt and replaced like say a broken Loud speaker cable banna plug or a 21 pin computer monitor cable? Interesting. I wonder how much it would cost to replace, repair or rewire these connectors that maybe when weat causes short circuits results in a poorly shifting CD4E in the rain for example.
Brautman if you are reading, when you did your ATX rebuild, do you remember the condition of the wire harness connectors connecting the TSS, VSS, RSS. Did you have any harness connector rewiring or replacing to do?
How would one go about rebuild wire harness connectors?
Where would one purchase wire harness connector parts?
"* Disconnect transmission vehicle harness connector. Inspect for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion, loose wires, etc. Service as necessary.
* Connect DVOM (digital-volt-ohm-meter) between the VPWR (Variable Control Relay Module) pin and the suspect solenoid pin at the transmission vehicle harness connector.
* Perform KOEO (Key On Engine Off) Self-Test."
