Look past the myspace thing. Its the principal. I dont care that its a private school. They go too far. I do see that they have any right to tell the kids what they can and can't do. Pope John doesnt allow smoking or drinking out side of school either. But thats illegal anyway since the majority are under 18 and all are under 21.
Myspace isnt illegal for anyone.
Its doing the kids no good sheltering them this much.

It is the point. You dont' shop at stores you don't like do you? If in infurates (sp?) the parents that much they'll pull their kids out of the school and I'm sure the school may change their POV then.

It would be if the parents thought these Catholic schools were doing real damage to their kids. If they thought so and still didn't pull them out of school, then the parents are idiots, which again is not the point of the argument.

How about comparing apples to apples. In U.S. prisons anyone can have a bible or a Quran same as Guantanamo.
I actually agree with your earlier points about a catholic school making rules for students to follow outside of school. That's a first.

Although I think it's a bit overboard, it's a private school. Priest feels he's acting in the best interests of the students, and more importantly the parents (who pay the $$$ for tuition)... Lot of hypocrisy in the Catholic church (I'm Catholic and I think the church has some SERIOUS problems) so it's not surprising. Originally posted by svt4stv:

Not really, because if you asked the school administration they would say he lived by the rules (since he never got caught). If he would have been caught, he would not have been going to a private school.

H.S. Drama  Once these kids are out of school for a few years, they will look back and laugh about these types of things. Overprotective parents/teachers etc are nothing new, Catholic school or not. Besides like Corbett said, kids being kids will always find ways to sneak and break the rules when they really want to.
