Im just browsing suspension parts, and I came across a deal northwest tire is offering, all shocks/struts service 30% off, they use Monroe struts, I was thinking... if I had them do my struts, and I got a set of SVT springs. I could have a nice suspension setup for a pretty decent cost... How are monroe struts? and how well would they match up with SVT springs?

Monroe struts, just like any other stock replacement (Gabriel, KYB, etc) is going to be just that. A bone stock replacement. Not SVT, not early SE, but a bone stock strut.
Quality-wise it's average for a stock replacement.

It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.

yeah, I knew my suspension was bad, but I have neglected it for too long, it needs some serious work, I went under the back of the car today to take a look at what has been causing the creaking and klunking... Here are the springs... ...Rusted to hell none the less, I was hoping I Might be able to salvage the springs, but I look at them and KNOW I cant... OH WELL! time for REALLY nice springs Now lets take a look at those BEAUTIFUL Sway bar Bushings... *shutters* TIME TO REPLACE! I soaked them in PB blaster tonight, and plan to do it a few more times then replace them sometime soon just to get it over with... Check out the end links... Good lord, it looks like it could Snap if you hit to hard of a bump... So what do you guys think... time to get my car's suspension with the times?

That's very much what mine looked like. For you, I'd think about this shopping list:
BAT or Koni kit Stazi endlinks 21mm BAT bar Sandblast and reinforce the subframe ($60 around here - your mileage may vary)
It's a good chunk of change, but it'll last for a very long time, look great and ride/handle great.

Believe me... I would love to do all of that, but im on a VERY limited budget, this car is also my daily driver. I bought it in October of 03' with 100K miles. and as of today it has 123300 miles, a lot of city and highway miles. So needless to say, a koni suspension would KILL my back ( since I have back problems already), and it would be virtually impossible to drive in the winter with that low of a setup. So if I do want to drop the ride height at all, the MOST I would drop it is 1 inch. Sandblasting would be a great idea... but at the same time, depends on the budget. The Bat Sway bar.... mmm sorry, but TOO much money. Im trying to get all of my parts through SLM, so basically I want an upgrade with praticality and a good price. For the sway bar, I want to see if I cant get some better endlinks and bushings though.

If your looking for something cheaper, I have a set of SVT springs in my garage. I'd pass on the monroe shocks and get SVT struts at the very least. BAT would be even better.

I don't know what your budget is or exactly what I'll want for mine, but in about 10 - 15 working days my BAT kit is due to arrive. I'd be willing to sell my SVT struts/springs for a fair price. I'd have to check on the shipping, but CTA charged me $54.00 for shipping (w/ sway bar). My springs/struts are off of my 2000 SVT w/ 50,000. They're in good shape, no leaks/no rust. PM me if interested and I'll get working on a price that includes shipping charges.

Whoa, your suspension is worse than my escort's was. It's not fun getting all the rusted stuff out, but it's definitely worth it.

FS: SVT rear sway bar

If Alias doesn't buy your used springs and struts, what are you going to do with them? Throw them away? So why charge him at all? It is a wear item that is easily halfway through it's optimum life-cycle yet you still want some coin off him? Gee, what a friend.

In retrospect, it was all downhill from here. RIP, CEG.

Yeah, you're right. What was I thinking?
Even though they look and ride great, they're still 5 years with 50,000 miles on them. And shipping could be quite steep, so to the scrap pile they go. Oh well.
Alias can thank you for me. I was figuring $100.00 + shipping [less than the price of 1 spring and 1 strut?] for all 4 but that's out the window now.
Maybe Alias will have a better offer, but $100.00 isn't much more than the $74.00 that I just spent for 1 Caster/Camber Kit
