I was just thinking what about a REgal GS or GP GTP? Quite fast cars, the 3800 is fairly reliable though special care needs to be taken wiht the SC of course. Not the best autox but they'll beat most cars (before the recent HP wars anyway) of the line with the gobs of torque that 3800SC creates They can be had with relatively low miles for a decent price. I know your looking at a manual but these cars are plenty fast wiht the ATX.

For the price a Sentra SE-R might be more appropriate.
I stick by opinon on the local dealership, however the g20 is a solid car, and you would be taking it to another dealer.Would I buy another Infiniti? Probably. Would I take it to those same idiots? No way Baco99 owned a G20 I believe (his wifes), he might be of some input.
The Sentra SE-R is certainly going to be a bit more juvenile than something like a G20 or an Altima. Speaking of Altima's a friend of mine is selling his 2004 S.5S for $14k, so they are out there as well, might even be able to pick up a 3.5SE if that is more your style.

Yeah, I forgot about those Altimas! you should be able to pick up a new-style 3.5SE for around 12K. I just saw and '03 model for 11,xxx. Those cars are SLEEPERS. I think Motor Trend tested an MTX/ATX(I can't remember) to do a 1/4 mile of 15 seconds flat. That is pretty quick for a "boring" grandma car as some of my rice buddies put it.

i would fully support a G20t purchase. Courtney and I were talking this morning about how much we loved that car. BE SURE to get the Touring model. you WILL WANT the limited slip differential. it makes a world of difference in wet and snow. it also rides better than a non-touring G20. her brother has a non-touring G20 and the suspension is too soft for the ride height. it bottoms out on speed bumps and driveways. ours never did that. ours was a 2001 G20t with the winter package and it was a very solid car. we only traded it because i wanted the MX5 so badly. as for Saab 9000s, mine has 109k miles on it and it drives great. some minor issues (the windsheild washer tank was replaced, needed brakes, has some squeaks), but repairs aren't any more expensive than my Contour was. try to find a manual transmission on a 9000, the autos are a little weaker. a 1998 9000 Aero 5-speed in the $9k range would be a SWEET deal. 225 HP, FWD, stealth, lots of space, hatchback, etc, etc... and stay away from the GM-era 900's. they had a lot of problems. the 9-3 model designation solved a lot of that. you can get a 5-door, 5-speed 9-3 Viggen (1999-2000) for roughly $14k these days. a sweet deal too, and very reliable. here are some links: http://www.g20.nethttp://www.saabcentral.com

I'd pick up a 97-99 Maxima for 7k and a used Stillen V2 supercharger with V1 adapter plate for 3k. And use the remaining 1k for a stillen lip kit + paint and some aftermarket wheels.

My car won't be modified any more than the Contour has been over the past four years although I am a fan of that generation Maxima.
Baco - I do like the Saab but I read many reviews on MSN Autos about them. There was many about the car dying or refusing to start; way too many for me to be comfortable purchasing one. I do like the Volvo a bit, rather boxy but otherwise quite a nice car. I will not be purchasing private-party, I'm planning to trade in the Contour, hopefully at a smallish car lot (have a few recommendations from friends).
The Altima is looking more and more favorable as well. Although I'm not the greatest fan of its style, it is ideal in most other respects.
Lots to choose from - thanks all! Now to actually get out and test drive a few ...
