don't worry about how its packaged, it is aluminum and can be shaped easily. just flex it in the opposite direction of any bends and it will lay straight. DO NOT bend it sharply!
there is a good side and a bad side, the smoother side is the good side.
the bumper pieces only go on one way.
the oil can be cleaned off anyway you want. wipe off the excess before installing it and hit it with a soapy sponge when its installed and you wash your car.
