this wouldn't be too difficult to do (assuming you don't already have a spoiler), as the trunks of the contour and mystique are relatively flat (assuming pre-98's are too..i have a 98). find one you like (i'd suggest grand touring or maybe m3 or supra (lower than the actual supra)), or aluminum, order it, and have it painted if necessary, and mounted.

Would it not be easier still to just put on a factory Ford spoiler or even a spoiler equipped trunk lid? He did say he wanted it to look as factory as possible.....depends on what he wants I spose

that one isn't happening, unless you're gonna pay quite a bit of money for a body shop to do a custom job.

Again, I could be wrong here, but is it not possible to swap hood, fenders, lights, grille etc. between pre and post 98 Tours and Mystiques? I was under the impression the only real changes made were cosmetic, no real structural changes. I'm not saying that would be easy or cheap, but it's not too much of a custom job either. Please correct me if I'm wrong on this.
