Well, tried to put the hood lifts on as per the how-to. Installing the ball connectors went fine. Except, the bolt location for on the hood is too low and the lifts hit the fender lip frown . There must be differences in bolt location hood to hood.

Also, the lifts must of been mixed in the bag, one of the lifts would not hold the hood up by itself, the other would.

So, I will regroup and try to figure out how to do this a different way. I probably have to drill different holes higher up to make them fit.

To make matters worse, I slipped when drilling in the fender lip and put the bit through the main wiring harness mad , let some sparks fly. I opened the harness (after disconnecting the battery) and repaired the damaged wires. Thought it was o.k. and later discovered I had no heater/ a/c. Checked fuses under dash, o.k. Was getting panicky, then checked under hood. The owners manual and tech CD both are messed up on fuse location. I found the fuse, a 40 amp, big square one, and temporarily fixed it (Glob of solder :eek smile as no stores are open as I write this. Tomorrow, I will replace it first thing but I need the heat to work in the A.M.
