I live about 30 min north of PGH. Last year my bro and I left our place Fri after school(I teach), and got to our campground at about 10:00 pm, (stopped to eat and stuff). We came back about 3:00 on Sunday.
I also parked in a muddy field while camping, and met Allen while using the FREE car wash stations. IIRC, he commented on my dirty wheels. (Yes Allen, I still remember that!) So you don't need to worry about washing the car before the road trip.
