Just the very thought that we constrain their activity to a 1 gallon fishbowl for our viewing enjoyment is selfish, and cruel.



They are goldfish, they dont possess enough brain activity to care.


And anyway a goldfish have about 1 or 2 second memory...
The time to get to one side of the bowl, he already forgot what's on the other side. So for him, his bowl is as vast as an ocean.
