I don't see why blacks were so against siting in the back of the bus. I mean if the bus hits a truck head on, the whiteys in the front will die first.

RIP Rosa Parks and to Todras and Pack, that was not necessary. It's the principle of the whole thing. To Todras: Outkast used her name WITHOUT permission to make a song that totally went against what she was trying to prove. While they (Outkast) said it was only meant FIGURATIVELY, that doesn't matter because most people didn't KNOW they don't really mean for black to stop fighting back. They entitle the song ROSA PARKS and tell everyone to "hush that fuss" and "move to the back of the bus". That doesn't sound to me like they meant it figuratively. Pack, I know you were just teasing about the whole bus crash thing, but this thread wasn't the place for that.

Not sure about that, but fact is, you cannot use someone else's name without permission like that. Well, you could, then you'd get sued, just as Outkast have been

as far as the outkast thing. i think the complaint on her behalf was taken out of context. it wasn't just them using her name, but insinuated the name was being used in a negative connotation which was not true. i just think some old school folks associate hip hop with negativity and for that reason alone they didn't want anything to do with an outkast song that was not negative in any way. they couldn't accept that though. sad.
