I guess it really depends on where you put your money/priorities. I'm OK with driving a 10 year old car, I could drive a brand new, top-of-the-line 500, Accord, BMW, etc. But I don't - instead, I focus on making sure the bills are paid, the baby is feed and that my family can survive if both me and my fiance lost our jobs. Come to think of it, my other car ('91 Honda Accord) has it's own set of problems that I'd like to [censored] slap Honda engineers for.
